Spiced Applesauce
Yield: 9 cups
Ingredients
| 18 | medium tart apples, peeled and quartered | ||

| 1 | cup | apple cider | |
|
|
|||
| 3/4 | cup | sugar | |
|
|
|||
| 2 | Tablespoons | lemon juice | |
|
|
|||
| 1 | cinnamon stick | ||
|
|
|||
| 1 | teaspoon | ginger | |
|
|
|||
| 1 | teaspoon | vanilla | |
|
|
|||
| 1/2 | teaspoon | nutmeg | |
|
|
|||
| 1/2 | teaspoon | mace | |
|
|
|||
| 1/2 | teaspoon | cardamom | |
|
|
|||
Directions:
Place all ingredients in large saucepan. Cover and cook over medium low heat for 40 minutes or until apples are tender. Remove from heat; discard cinnamon stick. Mash the apples to desired consistency. Serve warm or chilled.
